Start Something Small - SSS.
While in Kolkatta during the Cyclone Aila Relief project; I had an opportunity to meet with the Head of the Ramakrishna Mission. He reminded me what Swami Vivekananda said, many years ago " Start something Small", Begin with a clear Big Vision and that small idea would become large.
Few weeks ago, I realised that I have turned sweeter i.e. my sugar levels are UP. It is not a good thing for the Diabetic. The doctor changed few medicines and again reminded me about burning calories.
With my lifestyle, I get up early but do not feel motivated to go for a walk. I was using a substitute - a Morning Walker machine which promised many benefits.
Then a Friend with Diabetic type 1 for 18 years suggested I jog at one place for few minutes. I have started something small and seeing some benefit.

Do something Daily

I began doing couple of things daily:
1. Being a gadget freak I downloaded couple of interesting apps on my Itouchpad like self hypnosis program. This has inbuilt programs which give a message to the subconscious like " I love to exercise" ... What it does to me in the night is a very good uninterrupted sleep. Wanna try?
2. I have begun to listen to various Mantras and chants, Aartis and Shlokas on the Ipod and also downloaded some great podcasts from the Harvard, Marshall Goldsmith site and hear them daily.
Nothing gets accomplished unless you keep a Count...
Finally, an advice from my wise wife at home. Keep a Target, Keep a count. She said to me, keep the target of dropping atleast a Kilo of weight each month and watch it daily on the weighing scale. Keep a target of dropping an inch around the waist each month and keep a Tailor's tape and measure it daily.
Practical indeed. I am trying this.
